MENON HOUSE
This ancestral house of the Menon’s, stands amidst the idyllic landscape. Encircling the house are the trees of coconut, mango, jackfruit, banana, nutmeg, wild jack and more. The sun rises in the front yard, envelopes the house by the dappled light and the place echoes by the melody of birds singing. The original house ages 400 years and was built using jackfruit tree wood. While it has evolved through the years, it is still a palimpsest of the family’s history.
The project aspires to overhaul the house by preserving the details, scale and spirit of the original house.
