TALL WEIRD LAD,
A WORLD NOMAD!
“They call him an artist
Some say he is a creator
Of spaces, words and emotions
Some say he is a wanderer
His feet have no path, only motion
They call him a gypsy
Some say he doesn’t know the world
He breaks rules and traditions
Some say he can see the entire world
From the front seat of his two wheels
His world is black and white
His mind is full of colours bright
And somewhere in the midst, where its grey
You’ll find a tall weird lad called Tanay.”
Tanay Bothara represents a new generation of thoughtful, sensitive and socially driven architects who are global thinkers. The empathy and feeling that is palpable in his choice of subject and the maturity and restraint of his design solution are of special note.
Design Principal, SAKA Studio
Tanay's ideas are wonderful and very humane. I am proud to have someone who thinks like him. His message can reach the world and affect it.
Tanay’s works are carefully curated through precise and clean drawings, models and photographs. He shows a level of design sensibility in terms of scale of the elements and intervention, programmatic organization, sequence and circulation through his projects. He has a good understanding of light/shadow and composition. His projects show a clear and logical design process.
Harvard Instructor, Design Discovery '19
We worked with Tanay to design a student incubator space. Everyone who visits our space remarks, “I love the energy of this space.”
